Step 1: Choose the Right Pallet
In Australia, the standard pallet size is 1165mm x 1165mm.
Wooden Pallets: Most common and cost-effective for general freight.
Plastic Pallets: Great for hygiene (like food or pharma) but more expensive.
Check the Condition: Never use a pallet with cracked boards or missing nails. A weak base is the #1 cause of freight damage!
Step 2: Stack Your Goods Like a Pro
The way you stack determines how much you pay and how safe your gear is.
Heavy items at the bottom: This keeps the center of gravity low.
No “Pyramid” Stacking: Keep the top flat. If your pallet is flat on top, transport companies can sometimes “double-stack,” which might save you money.
Avoid Overhang: Make sure your goods stay inside the 1165mm edges. Anything sticking out is liable to get bumped or damaged.

Place labels on at least two sides of the pallet.
Use clear, bold text with the Receiver’s Name, Full Address, and Consignment Number.

Before you book, check the pickup and delivery locations:
Forklift on site? If not, you must request a Tailgate Truck.
